Dr Simon Singh is an author and broadcaster specialising in science and mathematics. In 1996 he made a BBC documentary about Fermat’s Last Theorem, and the following year published a book on the subject – the first mathematical book to be a UK No.1 bestseller! He is also the author of The Code Book, a history of codes and code breaking from Ancient Egypt to the Internet. Simon Singh owns a genuine WWII Enigma cipher machine, on loan to the MMP and taken to schools as the focal point of codebreaking workshops and talks on cryptography by our Enigma Project.
